Dinner After Golf in Nueva Andalucía: How to Order Indian Food Properly

18 August 2026 · 5 min read

Order for the table, not for yourself. A simple sharing formula that works for four-balls, families and mixed-appetite groups.

After five hours in the Andalusian sun, nobody wants to study a 100-item menu. The easiest way to eat well at an Indian table is to order in three layers — grill, curry, bread and rice — and let everyone build their own plate.

The three-layer formula

Layer one: one tandoori starter per two people (chicken tikka, malai kebab, lamb ribs or tandoori king prawns). Layer two: one curry per person but placed in the middle of the table, chosen across heat levels. Layer three: one naan per person plus two portions of pilau or jeera rice for every four people. That ratio feeds a hungry golf group without leaving half the food behind.

Reading the heat levels

Korma and Butter Chicken are mild and creamy. Tikka Masala, Bhuna and Rogan Josh sit comfortably in the middle. Madras is genuinely hot, Vindaloo hotter, and Phal or Chicken Tikka Naga are for people who mean it. Our kitchen adjusts heat on request — ask when you order rather than after it arrives.

Halal, vegetarian and gluten questions

MAA is a fully halal kitchen, which makes it a straightforward choice for mixed international groups. Vegetarians are well served by Sag Paneer, Matar Paneer, Dal Badami, Bombay Aloo and Alo Gobi. If anyone at the table avoids gluten or dairy, tell the team when booking — many curries can be prepared without cream, and rice replaces the breads. Always confirm allergens directly with the restaurant.

Eating in at the villa

Use the Order Now page to build a collection or delivery order. Each dish can carry its own note — 'extra hot', 'no dairy', 'no coriander' — and the same dish ordered twice with different notes stays separate, so nothing gets mixed up when the bags arrive. Delivery covers Nueva Andalucía, San Pedro, Puerto Banús and Benahavís; a delivery charge may apply depending on distance.

Late finishers welcome

The kitchen serves until 23:30 every day, so a twilight round or a long nineteenth hole at the clubhouse does not have to end in a supermarket sandwich. Call 952 929 166 if you are running late and we will hold the table.
